This musical comedy stars one of Hollywood's greatest comedy duos, Abbott & Costello, bringing to life the colorful tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. While reading the story to a young man he's babysitting, Jack (Lou Costello) falls asleep and imagines himself as the hero, while everyone he's met this past day becomes the other characters in the story. Just like in the fable, Jack ends up selling the family cow to a shady butcher, played by Bud Abbott, for some magic beans that grow into a huge beanstalk that takes him on a wondrous trip to the giant's castle in the clouds.
